Anxiety
Feeling anxiety is supposed to be helpful despite the discomfort. A pattern of constant or overwhelming anxiety is no longer helpful, worsened by racing thoughts and strong body sensations. The intense physical and mental responses are draining, resulting in fatigue and lethargy. Anxiety issues may quickly grow to interfere with healthy routine, important activity, or social priorities.
Anxiety is one of the most common health concerns Canadians face. We learn to handle it in different ways, but may fail when feelings are intense or frequent. Our brains and bodies react quickly to stress with fight, flight or freeze responses which can be debilitating when unaddressed. Fortunately, anxiety issues are well understood and readily treatable.
