Trauma & PTSD
Overwhelming experiences cause our minds and bodies to shift into survival states, prioritizing danger and threat over regular functioning. Nervous systems are adapted to prioritize survival. Traditionally referred to as the “Fight or Flight” response, we now understand there are also Freeze and Fawn responses, and often subsequent Collapse – a state of exhaustion, burn out, and immobility. Trauma and PTSD occur when our physiology gets stuck in these extreme survival states, interfering with other important parts of life. Fortunately, modern trauma therapy is proven to be highly effective. We can assist you to restore wellness and balance for your mind and body.
