Christine’s passion for healthcare started at a young age when she experienced a rare autoimmune disorder, rendering her paralyzed from the waist-down for 2 weeks. She was inspired by the care and compassion of the clinicians that aided her in regaining her ability to walk. The same year she placed 3rd in a city-wide track and field competition in the 100 meter dash. She was granted rare insights into unexpected disability which fosters in her a drive to help others.
She began her career with the Edmonton Down Syndrome Society, running children’s groups for skills growth and healthy development. Subsequently, she became a Home Care Case Manager with Alberta Health Services, providing occupational therapy services and care management to a caseload of approximately 60 clients. While in this position, Christine assumed the role of Clinical Best Practice Representative, mentoring new therapists and students. She honed her skills in assessing functional abilities to work with your physical, mental, and social strengths. She will also help you established additional supports to help succeed.
